129 - Heartless -- Sin Corazón

Heartless

Flying leaves
have invaded my house
and my heart decided
to carelessly go gliding
in the tail of the biggest one.
They landed on a peaceful praire
and everything was warm,
that's why my heart left me
and now I'm just an empty carcass,
a heartless lover, an empty vase.
If, one day, your decide togo walking
through the woods
beware not to step or kick
my wandering heart.
Maybe it will cling to your eyes
and you both can return to me.

Sin Corazón

Hojas voladoras
han invadido mi hogar
y mi corazón decidió
irse a volar ingénuo
a mi corazón andante.

128 - Predator -- Depredador

Predator

They wait for the longing to end
while in the dark corner, in the shadows,
the predator awaits for their first move.

One by one, the sheep disappear
from the lonely meadows of hope
while the belly of the beast enlarges
full of the innocent fruit of the meadow.

Depredador

127 - Peace -- Paz

Peace

Hungry clouds gather
around a naked obelisk,
letting room beyond them
for the pristine, blue sky
and the flight of birds.
Inside, it's cool; outside, warm,
but most of all, silence.
Silence, like a ring
in a dead man's finger,
lies presently and quiet,
observing and waiting
as does the tall executioner
anticipating his act
under the gallows.
In this compact mass of people
it appears to be only
the wind, my respiration and I.

Paz

yace presente y tranquilo
esperando observante
como lo hace el verdugo
mientras anticipa su actuación
al pie del patíbulo.
Dentro de esta masa compacta de gente
aparentemente sólo somos
el viento, mi respiración y yo.

126 - Frontier -- Frontera

Frontier

The frontiers have fallen
in the Land of The Free.
There we invisible,
made of dust and river water
and now they became inexistent.
The Barbie Dolls are dancing excitedly
around a gathering of Buzz Light Years,
in a constant menage-a-trois.
A wonderful barbecue of burgers
accompanied of humongous quantities
of soda pop and cornbread is taking place
right where the dust frontiers stood.
"Freedom! Freedom!" They cry,
and they shiver from head to toe
at the thought of something bigger than them.
That's when they realize
that they have nothing to fight for anymore.
The Tin Soldiers fall into depression
and start fighting each other,
while the clowns run confused
one way or the other in a haste.
The Blond Barbies have formed a gang
and now follow an unaware Laquisha Doll
that is trying to get herself a burger and a beer.
After the hostilities finished,
as a shady bloodshed secret,
the survivors decided to build again
the dust frontier next to the sweet river
and erase all the memories of freedom
from their plastic hearts and brains.

Frontera

Las fronteras han caído
en la Tierra de Los Libres.
Eran invisibles,

125 - Evening -- Tarde

Evening

There's a smell of lavender
all over this house,
and the heat outside
doesn't really make a difference
in how nice it is in here.
Chocolates and cinnamon
and the nice cool breeze
of the airconditioner on the window;
a good movie on TV
and a big glass of water...
a perfect afternoon
without unexpected wastes.

Tarde

Hay un olor a lavanda
en todos los rincones de la casa,
y el calor de afuera
no hace ninguna diferencia
Chocolates y canela
y la deliciosa brisa fresca
del aire acondicionado en la ventana;
una buena película en la tele
y un vaso grande de agua...
una tarde perfecta
sin desperdicios inesperados.

124 - Happiness -- Felicidad

Happiness

I have said it many times:
to be happy I only need
a big dose of great music;
some solitude and some friends;
a carnival of homeless artists
parading in the train;
a new toy, now and then,
to play with until i'm tired
and the forget all about it,
and a strong arm to cling to
when i'm going down the stairs.
Yes, all I need to be happy
is to walk that road back home
and be sure that I will finally get there.

Felicidad

Lo he dicho muchas veces:
para ser feliz, sólo necesito
una dosis grande de buena música;
algo de soledad y algo de compañía;
un carnaval de artistas sin hogar
desfilando en el tren;
voy a llegar a ella.

123 - Slight Look -- Mirada Leve

Slight Look

He looked away
from me and everyone
to immerse himself
into the deep sea
of the forest in front of him.
Like a Prince, a Conqueror,
a Rider of The Magic Carpet,
he played to discover
and discover he did.
The trees were so and giants,
the fallen trunks, horses,
and the sky... The sky was
an endless blue road
to follow all the way up
to the rainbows and clouds.
To a child's eye,
everything is new an exciting.

Mirada Leve

Apartó su mirada
de mi y de todos
para perderse
en el mar profundo
que era el bosque frente a el.
Como un Principe, un Conquistador,
el Jinete de La Alfombra Mágica,
jugó a descubrir y eso hizo.
Los árboles eran gigantes,
los troncos caídos, caballos,
y el cielo... el cielo era
el interminable camino azul
a seguir hacia arriba
hacia los arcoiris y las nubes.
A los ojos de un niño,
todo es nuevo y exitante.

122 - Return -- Volver

Return

Today, there is nothing more
than wood under my feet.
My motherland lies afar
and my heart grows tired
like Akhileus
in the war of Troy.
May Athena, the grey - eyed,
give me wisdom
and Poseidon
a traced way over the sea
for my secure return home!
Meanwhile, today,
I stay safely on land,
the wood under my feet,
my heart in hope of return
to the arms of my love.

Volver

Hoy, no hay más que
madera bajo mis pies.
Mi tierra duerme lejana
y my corazón está cansado
como Aquiles
en la guerra de Troya.
Athena me servirá de guía
y Poseidón ha de trazar
un camino sobre las aguas
para mi retorno seguro a casa.
Mientras, el día de hoy,
me quedo protegida en tierra,
con la madera bajo mis pies,
y mi corazón
con la esperanza de regresar
a los brazos de mi amor.

121 - Wanderer -- Caminante

Wanderer

I sit down to rest.
The poetry in my back
weights as much as Saturn.
I'm tired of running
one way or the other
in my constant search
of the lost Muse.
Now I just want to rest;
to push my tired back
against the cool floor,
look up to the sky
and breath in the sea breeze.
My quest can wait
a little longer.

Caminante

Me siento a descansar.
La poesía en mi espalda
pesa tanto como Saturno.
Estoy cansada de correr
de un lado para otro
en mi búsqueda constante
de la Musa perdida.
Ahora sólo quiero descansar;
poner mi espalda cansada
contra el suelo fresco,
mirar hacia el cielo
y respirar el olor del mar.
Mi búsqueda puede esperar
todavía un poco más.

120 - Party -- Fiesta

Party

They run!
And how they run!
Like desperate ants
who have lost their nest.
The fish has been caught!
And a great fish it is!
There will be a feast
in our village, tonight.
The music fades!
We can't hear it anymore!
All that is left
is nothing but scales
and dead ants.

Fiesta

Corren!
Y cómo corren!
Como hormigas desesperadas
fuera de su hormiguero.
El pez ha sido atrapado!
Y qué gran pez!
Habrá un festín
esta noche en nuestro pueblo.
La música languidece!
Casi no podemos oírla!
Todo lo que queda
es sólo escamas
y hormigas muertas.

119 - For You -- Por Ti

For You

I used to fight
for you
live and laugh
for you
wait and endure
for you
Now I cry
for you

Por Ti

Yo solía luchar
por ti
vivir y reír
por ti
esperar y aguantar
por ti
Ahora lloro
por ti

118 - Life -- Vida

Life

Sometimes life
shows itself blurry
just to give us
a different perspective.
That's what
makes it beautiful.

Vida

A veces la vida
se nos muestra
en borrones
para darnos
una vista diferente.
Eso es
lo que la hace hermosa.

117 -

Chocolate Cake

Layers and layers
of creamy relief
resting upon
my chocolate skin.
The taste of desire,
and sweat and love
and the crumbles
of strength and sighs
it's all is left
from our chocolate cake.

Pastel de Chocolate

Capas y capas
de un desahogo cremoso
descansando sobre
mi piel de chocolate.
El sabor del deseo,
y sudor y amor
y los restos
de fuerza y suspiros
es todo lo que queda
de nuestro pastel de chocolate.

116 - Friday -- Viernes

Friday

I ordered an egg and toast
and it came in the most uncommon fashion:
two cracked eggs and a burnt toast
announcing loudly
the happiness of Friday
and laundry day.

The flavors parade my tongue,
common and sincere,
while the smoke flirts
with the familiar faces,
dressed in exhaustion,
that merrily haunt these woods.

It's Friday.
No doubt.

Viernes

Ordene un huevo y un pan tostado
y vino en la manera menos esperada:
dos huevos rotos y un pan quemado
anunciando a voz en pecho
la felicidad del viernes
y el dia de lavado.

Los sabores desfilan en mi lengua,
conocidos y sinceros,
mirentras en humo coquetea
con las caras familiares,
vestidas de cansancio,
que felizmente plagan estos bosques.

Es viernes.
Sin dudas.

115 - Garage

Garage

Around me lies
the death of an era,
the cry for nostalgia
from long ago
that lives and dies
inside nameless canvas
from a nameles painter
in a nameless place.
It kicks and cries
with it freedom pierced
by oily memories
drawn in acrylic.
The Sun goes down
and another memory
goes by.

Garage

Al rededor mio descansa
la muerte de una era,
el llanto de la nostalgia
de hace mucho tiempo ya
que vive y muere
dentro de un lienzo sin nombre,
pintada por un pintor sin nombre,
desde un lugar sin nombre.
Patea y llora
con la libertad perforada
por recuerdos de aceite
ahoragados en acrilico.
El Sol se pone
y otro recuerdo
pasa.

114 - Answer -- Respuesta

Answer

I, my friend, suffer, too.
I am also tormented
for that evil being
that makes the marrow
inside my bones tremble.
Oh, Brother!
His eyes pierce my bosom
as if the could see my soul!
The warmth of his lips,
sweet poison I want to indulge in,
seem to be resolutely unyielding,
and the embrace
that inhabits his hands rest obstinately
before my desperate provocations.
Ay, Comrade!
How sad are the waves
that bathe the coasts
of an imposible love!
The trains come and go.
Mean while, we're standing
next to the tracks.
In the distance
I can hear your train come,
rapidly, to meet you.
I will see you go,
bidding you farewell with my hand.
My train is yet to come,
in the best of cases.
For more than ten years now,
I still wait.

Respuesta

Yo también, amigo mio, sufro.
A mi también me atormenta
un amor que me estremece
los tuétanos dentro de los huesos.
Oh, Hermano!
duerme serena
ante mis provocaciones desesperadas.
Ay, Camarada!
Qué tristes son las olas
que bañan las playas
del amor imposible!
Los trenes vienen y van,
y nosotros estamos parados
junto al andén.
En la distancia se oye tu tren,
que viene con rapidez a tu encuentro.
Yo te veré partir,
despidiéndote con la mano.
Mi tren no pasa.
Por más de diez años,
aún espero.

113 - Nothing -- Nada

Nothing

I don't want to
kill anyone in this poem
nor I want to write
about children
holding hands
I don't want to
say there's a heavenly way
to do things in here
in this empty
sad planet
or talk about
salvation and saviors
I just want to
write without a line
and I humbly
believe that
I have accomplished it
quite artfully

Nada

No quiero matar a nadie
en este poema
ni quiero escribir
sobre niños
con manos entrelazadas
No quiero decir
que hay una manera celestial
de hacer las cosas
aqui en este vacío
triste planeta
o hablar sobre
salvación y salvadores
Sólo quiero
escribir sin rumbo
y humildemente
creo que lo he logrado
con bastante arte

112 - Stereotype -- Estereotipo

Stereotype

I don't want to look like anybody else,
nor envy those magazine models
or desire those men
I'll never be able to have.
I don't want to be that woman
who lives as a soap-opera character;
or whom Jazmin novels
are quality literature.
I want to be the one who flies with Benedetti,
the secret lover os Dumas,
that who marvels and understands
the logics of the Leaning Skyscraper
in the land of petroleum and sands.
I want to be myself, without boundaries,
waiting for the woman I desire
to come out of the shadows behind the curtain
with a smile and a kiss.

Estereotipo

No quiero parecerme a nadie,
ni envidar esos cuerpos de revista
o desear esos hombres
que nunca podré tener.
No quiero ser esa mujer
que vive las telenovelas;

111 - From Behind -- Desde Atrás

From Behind

The colors run swiftly
from behind me
like wanting to force me
to rotate my head
in the imposible fashion of owls.
It's impossible.
The colors continue to fugue,
inexpressive and disembodied
from me, into the distance.
Meanwhile, I have decided
to enjoy the view
with my eyes lost in the road.

Desde Atrás

Los colores corren en fuga
desde detrás mio
como queriéndome forzar
a rotar la cabeza
del modo imposible de las lechuzas.
No, no puedo.
Los colores se siguen fugando,
inexpresivos e incorpóreos
desde mi hacia la distancia.
Yo mientras, he decidido,
disfrutar de la vista,
con los ojos perdido en el camino.

110 - Drifter -- Trotamundos

Drifter

I don't want to strangle words
trying to get some beauty out of them.
I declare that today my only wish
is to peacefully finish my cigarette,
fly with the wings of a foreign film
and lie down to rest my feet,
rotten now from drifting away.

Trotamundos

y acostarme a reposar mis pies
podridos ya de andar vagando.
