107 - Beads -- Cuentas

Beads

When the bead of the necklaces
were made of tea, laughter and singing parks;
when everything was love and Friday night's movies,
an impossible mission was finding a fitting bra or blouse;
when friends were as far as a phone call, at any time,
and depression was drawn in fearless kisses , tears and rum ;
then, it was present, that now is past, empty and distant.
Now, the spiderwebs knit questions and alien sexes,
books on top of books, millions of bindles pages,
soap-operas full of shitty drama
that fill entire hours of the day of boring dialogues;
now that things are like black coffee in the mornings,
with poems like an evening plage, and due dates,
and desires that grown like captive birds, and sing.
Now, like yesterday, the Sun rises in the horizon,
people go to work and damn the seasons,
drink teas made by foreign hands,
maybe listen to a song as they stroll through a park,
buy things, have doubts; and then, the Sun goes down
and the past and present fuse in a dark sunset
that begins a new cycle, in which I have to do nothing
but to close my eyes and survive the memories as well as the hopes.

Cuentas

Cuando las cuentas de los collares
estaban hechas de té, de risas, de parques cantarines;
encontrar un brassier que me quedara, o una blusa;
y las depresiones se ahogaban con besos ajenos, lágrimas y ron;
que llenan las horas y los días de diálogos mal escritos;
